Make journalling a consistent and sustainable part of your routine, boost your confidence and self-esteem, and feel proud of the English you already have.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You’ve heard about the benefits of journalling for both your mindset and language practice.

  • You’ve bought a beautiful new notebook, and maybe even treated yourself to a pen with your favourite ink, but they’re still sitting unused on your bookshelf or bedside table.

  • You’ve tried journalling, but that nagging voice in your head tells you you’re not doing it right, or that it’s pointless because you can’t see that it’s making any difference.

  • Perhaps you’re even a teacher who’d like to discover more meaningful practice exercises for your students.

I’m still hearing so many stories like these, which is why I’ve tweaked Meaningful Journalling: The Workshop to bring you something even more meaningful!

Next month, I’m hosting Meaningful Journalling: May We Write, a month of guided journalling in English, with live sessions, daily tasks, and a supportive community to keep you writing throughout the whole of May – and beyond.

How does it work?

Sunday 3rd – Friday 8th May

A cosy, supportive Telegram community of like-minded English enthusiasts opens on Sunday, 3rd May.

Each day (from Sunday to Friday), you’ll receive one simple task to complete. These tasks are designed to get you ready for our first live session, as well as lay the groundwork for a consistent long-term journalling practice.

Saturday, 9th May 4:00-6:00pm (CEST)

Our first live session takes place.  In this two-hour practical workshop, I’ll take you through:

  • an entrance visualisation to help you focus,
  • a writing technique to make journalling a simple and consistent part of your routine,
  • strategies to ensure you use journalling as a tool for recycling language,
  • a 20-minute quiet journalling session,
  • time to discuss your thoughts in breakout rooms with the other participants.

Sunday 10th – Friday 22nd May

After the first live session, you have two weeks to put what you learn into practice.  We’ll stay in touch via Telegram, supporting and encouraging each other.  And of course, I’ll be on hand to answer any questions which pop up.

Saturday, 23rd May 4:00-5:00pm (CEST)

Our second live session takes place.

In this hour-long session, you’ll reflect on your progress and share your reflections with the other members of the group.

Sunday 24th – Sunday 31st May

After the second live session, we’ll stay in touch via Telegram, supporting and encouraging each other.  We’ll also reflect on how to maintain this practice after the Telegram group closes on Sunday 31st May.

THE LIVE SESSIONS WILL NOT BE RECORDED!

How many times have you signed up (and paid!) for a workshop, only to leave the recording gathering dust in your email inbox, waiting for that mythical “perfect time to watch”?

The whole purpose of this workshop is to make journalling a consistent and sustainable practice, to boost your confidence and self-esteem. You’ll gain much more from attending live, and I can’t guarantee the same experience if you watch it later — especially if the recording never even gets watched!

I understand that you may like having a recording to review later or check your understanding. That’s why I’ve created a PDF workbook that you can download and print before the workshop. This way, you can fully engage with the workshop without worrying about taking notes or missing any important information.

What's included?

  •  A cosy, supportive Telegram community of like-minded English enthusiasts which stays open for a month (Sunday, 3rd – Sunday 31st May 2026).

  • Two live and interactive sessions, including guided writing practice and breakout room discussions with the other participants

  • Daily tasks and support to lay the groundwork for a consistent, lasting practice

  • Ongoing support and encouragement from me and your fellow participants throughout

  • A downloadable PDF workbook summarising the key points from the live sessions.

Investment: 27 euros

Hi, I’m Sarah – and I’m here to help you slow down, reflect, and gain new perspectives on language and life.

I’ve created this workshop because I know that building confidence and developing a lasting relationship with a language comes from consistent practice, not quick fixes.

Over the last ten years, I’ve helped advanced and proficient-level English users reach their goals of passing exams, successfully completing job interviews, and giving presentations. But these are just the means to an end.

I’ve seen time and again how students’ attitudes change dramatically when they take their foot off the gas and allow themselves to sink into enjoying the English they’ve worked so hard to acquire.

I know you’re tired of chasing the impossible goal of ‘perfect English’.

I know you’re fed up with memorising and regurgitating polished essay phrases or repetitive interview introductions.

I know that you want to find your own voice in English – to express yourself as freely and eloquently as you do in your first language.

I also know the toll that perfectionism takes when working towards such lofty goals.

After leaving my successful Director of Studies job due to burnout,  I had to go back to basics and re-build my self-esteem from scratch. Fortunately, I worked with a number of  wonderful mental health professionals who introduced me to a whole host of confidence-boosting techniques — one of which was journalling.

This regular writing practice has been a mainstay in my life ever since. As an introverted yet ambitious teacher and business owner, journalling helps me celebrate my successes, navigate my challenges, and put things into perspective when my intrusive thoughts become just a little too loud.

Meaningful Journalling: May We Write is for you if...

  • you’re looking for a more meaningful way to practise the new language you learn in class;

  • you feel lost at the start of a new academic year and need a tool to organise your thoughts;

  • you panic whenever you have to write in English;

  • you want to start journalling, but can never find the time or motivation to do so;

  • you’ve tried journalling but aren’t sure if you’re ‘doing it right’; you often find yourself staring at a blank page, unable to come up with ideas;

  • you already journal in your first language, but don’t know how to use journalling to improve your English;

  • you’re a keen journaller, but you feel a little bored with your usual writing routine;

  • you want to connect with like-minded English users and share strategies for journalling and confidence-building.
