I am a PGCE and CELTA qualified English teacher with ten years’ classroom and online teaching experience.

I am passionate about teaching students authentically and leading lessons based on meaningful topics to genuinely ignite students’ curiosity.

As a linguist myself, I understand that a real love of learning languages comes from making meaningful connections and discussing subjects which truly fascinate us.

As a lifelong learner and lover of languages, I understand the frustration of reaching an advanced level and not knowing where to turn next.  I tried conventional face-to-face classes, self-study textbooks, online language exchanges…the list goes on.  Nothing ever hit the mark.  I wasn’t interested in taking an exam. I wanted to improve my level for me, for my own personal growth.  I was looking for somewhere to learn about topics in which I was genuinely interested.

At the same time, I was working as a face-to-face classroom-based English teacher and could see the same frustration for my C1 and C2 students.  While some were preparing for the Cambridge Advanced and Proficiency exams, others attended classes to maintain their level of English and had very little interest in completing Use of English exercises.  Our liveliest lessons were the ones when we put down the textbooks and focused on meaningful, authentic communication.

This is where the idea for Meaningful English was born, a course where you can learn English authentically, grow in confidence and make connections with other like-minded students.
